Facilitators

The opportunity here is to join a growing multidisciplinary team (now more than 80) to see Lifestyle Medicine become mainstream across the UK and beyond. As a group we are pursuing NHS opportunities (research, pilots, ultimately commissioning) and we’d be delighted if you’d like to join us! Our first pilots have commenced at a GP surgery in Kent and is recruiting 60 patients with obesity plus diabetes, hypertension or cardiovascular disease. Additional pilots have taken place in Oxford, Ashford, Middlesex and Taunton, Somerset.

We are also pursuing other channels e.g. health insurers, corporates, NHS staff wellbeing, private medicine. Our plan at this stage is to train the first wave of early adopters who would like to creatively explore ways to bring LM into healthcare. CHIP is the best validated intervention we could find – by training as a freelance practitioner you have an expert program in your hands with lots of compelling published evidence. The American College of Lifestyle Medicine recently accredited CHIP as its first Certified Program in Lifestyle Medicine. This provides you a platform for discussion with colleagues, commissioners, service planners, Primary Care Networks etc.

CHIP Facilitator training has two elements: CHIP Education which is a self study online learning which carries 40 CPD hours with BLSM. The second element – CHIP Facilitator training consists of 3 Sunday morning sessions (normally for 1.5 hours each time) online delivered by our CHIP trainer.
